In December 2013, Lim set sail on a 12 day Expedition cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula, the South Shetland Islands & the Weddell Sea. Here he tells us about his experiences…

Did you enjoy the activities and facilities and excursions provided?
I fully enjoyed everything. The lectures were very good, the food was lovely, and all of the staff genuinely care about the environment of the Antarctic, they really are saving the earth!
Most importantly, the vessel was very small: there were no more than 85 passengers on board, and we were able to do 2 shore excursions almost every day, which was great.
What was the highlight of your trip to Antarctica?
My highlight was day 7, when we explored Foyn Harbour, the scenery was so nice, it was like heaven….
How well did Swoop Antarctica do helping you plan your holiday, and finding the best trip or operator for you?
Swoop gave me all the information I needed and answered a lot of questions for me, they were really good.
How did you find the operator we referred you to?
Very good, I learned many things I did not know before I went to Antarctica.
Was there anything that you wish had happened differently/or not happened at all?
I was just a little disappointed that I did not get to see any whales.
