Ray visited Antarctica on 14th January and told us all about his trip on his return.
Welcome back! We hope you had a great time! What was the highlight of your trip?
I had a absolutely fantastic time, the highlight was landing on the first Antartic island with the many chin strap penguins, seals and whales. It was also great to visit Puerto Williams and get off at Cape Horn even though there were 50 knot winds and the Hotel Rey Don Felipe in Punta Arenas was a fantastic place to stay at the end of the trip.
How would you rate the operator that Swoop Patagonia introduced you to?
The operator gets 15/10 and the staff they were fantastic all the way through and professional and friendly. I shared a cabin with another solo traveller and they did really well to pair me up with such a like minded person of a similar age and same language.
What could/should they have done differently?
I’m not sure what else they can do differently, perhaps go further towards the main land and perhaps provide a bit more entertainment on board, aside from the lectures and documentaries.
