Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
First and foremost do not fly to Antarctica. Take a trip that starts in Ushuaia, and you get on a boat. Since Swoop does not book flights, I would emphasize to your clients that they start at the end point and work their way back. Also, I would strongly advise them to book all of their flights on the same day. Most airlines allow you to change flights within 24 hours at no charge. We booked some of our flights because we were told we would be able to fly from point A to point B in one day. The next weekend we got together to book the remaining flights and discovered that you could not actually fly from point A to point B in one day, we had to rebook all of our previously flights which cost us hundreds of dollars.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I don’t think so.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
That you give people the advice I wrote above, and that you try to have one or two people work on one trip. I certainly understand the challenges of that, given how far in advance people book, but try.
