Watching over 200 fin whales feeding with hundreds of penguins and albatrosses, just off Elephant Island. It was sunny with incredibly strong wind, and many of the blows from the fin whales turned into rainbows.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Take a look at what animals and scenery you might see in different months because it can truly vary from October to March - if you want whales, go in March and you will not regret it. And make sure you bring waterproofs, it can get wet in the zodiacs!!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It’s made me appreciate just how rough and untouched Antarctica is compared to anywhere else I’ve been, including the Arctic.

Incredibly excited, because no matter how much prep or research I did I was never truly sure what I might see.
