Well Antarctica was impressive with all its splendor.. it’s vastness, whiteness. And for a few of the coves we were able to get in. But South Georgia.. was the highlight with so much wildlife and the history. The museum in Grytviken and the church were also very interesting. All the penguins - thousands of them at a time was very overwhelming at times. And Malvinas was good to as we learned more about its history.

Life changing

Except for seeing the emperor.. we saw all the penguins. And the seals.. so many. My favorite encounter was having a very curious penguin come up and bite my camera lens. Wow!

We loved the expedition team. And Guy was especially kind to us. His knowledge and lectures on birds also were great.

Almost brand new and shiny alover the OV was a beauty to behold. Very comfortable all over including the cabin which was spacious and well equipped. And the food was great. Lots of variety for every meal. We would recommend the OV to anyone!

Regarding the Expedition team.. we found all very good and coming from such a diverse background. Following Shackleton’s steps to some degree.. Gerhard and his own experience in the Antarctica and South Georgia also was a highlight to a great trip!

One.. the weather may not be as cold as what is billed. I found I brought too many clothes..

I think the trip has certainly increased my interest in the fragile nature of the world. And of the importance of the Antarctic to the world.
