Yes the boat was as we expected. Food was not as good for the reasons outlined above regarding allergies. Yes would choose the boat again - depending on price compared to Magellan Explorer or similar other small vessels
Tell us about the Kayaking
100% recommend this. We were lucky enough that both my wife and I were able to Kayak. I believe we got so much more out of the trip as we still did all the landings that other passengers did but also got to see other parts from the kayak. A few pointers : If you are kayaking then you have a dry suit provided - and use this when going ashore, so actually you need to take less clothing than you would otherwise think. Kayaks need to be adjusted to your size so it is not possible to swap people for different sessions (which a number of people thought they could do). Overall kayak sessions made Antartica trip so much more enjoyable so I would recommend anyone going to do it. And you don’t need to be experienced. My Wife had never been in a kayak before getting into the Southern Ocean !!

Overall this was an amazing trip. The negatives around organisation and food did not detract from the enjoyment - would merely have made it even better given that the things could so easily be fixed
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Go. Maybe think of a slightly longer trip to offset potential delays. Make sure you kayak. Do the polar plunge. Exhilarating
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Love Antarctica. Hope tourism doesn’t destroy it. So I left feeling very privileged to have been.
