What was your most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment was being on the continent with my daughter. Seeing the natural wildlife was wonderful.

Tell us about the wildlife
The wildlife lived up to my expectations. We had close encounters with penguins, whales, and several seals.I got a lot of photos, but others vacationers got in my pictures.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The zodiac cruises were great. We had opportunities to go out twice a day. The weather was perfect. Not too cold at all. It was colder at home. I felt safe the entire time. No issues, problems, or concerns.
Tell us about the expedition team
The entire team was great. The staff members sat and had lunch with vacationers. Al. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I love the whale lecture. This helped me try to stop the different ways by their tails.
Tell us about the Hondius
The ship was great! My room was great. My daughter and I had plenty of room. The food was fine, but I was there were more breakfast options. More variety would be good. There were different options for lunch and dinner so that was nice. I would choose the ship again.
Tell us about the Camping
Camping outside was great! I had my daughter dig our hole to sleep in. Since it was a small group sleeping outside, it was really nice. The sun was out all night long.
Tell us about the Kayaking
Kayaking was nice. Seeing the landscape up and close was nice. The staff members took great pictures of all the kayakers. That was a really nice touch. I definitely would do this activity again.
Something Else?
Literally everyone on the ship were kindred spirits. Most were world travelers and Antarctica was the last continent. We made new friends on the trip.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
If a traveler is interested in science and weather, they should take advantage of the lectures. Although, I didn’t have a problem, leaving Ushuaia, about 2/3 of the travelers had seasickness. Prevention is key. Bring medication for it.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The trip was a bucket list activity. The views were memorable. One more continent to go. In 2018, I went to the sub-Arctic to see the polar bear migration. This was much better.

Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
Nothing. I was very well prepared.
