Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I grew more comfortable as the week went on. At first was definitely afraid of falling out. The first outing in Cierva Cove was super rough due to heavy swell. That was not a good first experience.
Tell us about the expedition team
There are 13 and all were really excellent. Different backgrounds and specialties which provided an excellent mix. Kirsty in charge was really on top of things
Tell us about the Magellan Explorer
It was really nice. Very comfortable cabin attended to so well by Reggie. They could add a retractable line to provide more drying space
Tell us about Punta Arenas
It was good. Not great, but good. Not as nice as other places we visited in Patagonia. Hotel was set up well to handle our group.
Tell us about Santiago
We went many places in Chile on this trip and also to BA and Uruguay. Santiago was our least favorite. Downtown is not so nice and the extensive police presence made me think it’s bot so safe.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Air cruise is a great way to go but it seems the schedule is subject to change more frequently than I was led to believe. It helped us. It crushed the people the week before.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I have a fuller appreciation of the significance of Antarctica to the rest of the planet.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Sarah was great as was Brandon in handling my booking. What I saw and heard from others in webinars was also quite good.
