Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I felt safe at ALL times! Most memorable is a toss-up between my first one (seeing all the penguins!) and my final one (going through the an iceberg field).
Tell us about the expedition team
I can’t say enough about Amalia and her team - they all were amazing! A personal standout for me was Kris. He greeted my then newfound friend and I at the beach when we got off the shuttle and were awaiting our first Zodiac. He offered to take pics of us there, which turned out great! He (and others) joined us in the lounge once. And, he led the kayak excursion that was the highlight of my highlight-filled trip (with an atypical whale encounter). Finally, he was on shore to haul-in my final Zodiac as we were leaving. So, I had truly a full-circle experience with Kris.

The ship was in great condition. I’d definitely recommend it!

Get ready for the trip of a lifetime! For the record: I am very well travelled…

I feel changed, it’s not that my perspective has changed - I have.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Both Malva and Mariana were awesome! They were accessible, and caring from the moment I booked my trip!
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I felt very prepared - particularly after the Zoom call in November. My trip was preceded by a two-week motorcycle trip through the Patagonia region, ending in Punta Arenas. So, I was very focused on that. Upon reflection, my Antarctica experience eclipsed my motorcycle experience!
