Tell us about the Hondius
The two person cabin was better than I expected. The potholes were bigger than I imagined and the rooms looked like new. Food was wonderful and plentiful (I would add a bigger (craft) beer selection. I would choose Hondius again.
Were Swoop right to recommend Oceanwide Expeditions?
Yes
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I enjoyed all the zodiac excursions that I took. They were all pretty good. We were able to see lots of penguins, seals, icebergs, birds, active volcano. The drivers were very good, informative and safe.
Tell us about the expedition team
Everyone was great. I particularly like Juan, Anthony, Andy, Molly, Kelly, Camille, Wilmore and John Paul. Andy's lecture and mountaineering was my favorite.
Something Else?
I would suggest that the coordination for the camping site needs a little work. We had campers who dug their holes just above us and when they walked by, they (accidentally)pushed snow chunks into our holes and on top of our sleeping bags which we had to get up and clean out. The staff should control where the holes are dug and where people should walk.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It reminds me of how precious our planet is.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I was very excited to go to Antarctica. A bucket list item. My 6th continent. I felt like Ali and Oceanside provided pretty good tips and info for the trip.
