Hebridean SkyOverall, how was your trip?
The trip was the best I’ve ever had. The landscapes were out of the world and we were lucky to come across a lot of wildlife including tons of orca whales over two days. The co-passengers were amazing and we all got along very well. The expedition crew were superb- experienced, friendly and very concerned about our safety. The hotel and housekeeping staff ensured we were comfortable and had ample food to eat. I never thought I would do the polar plunge but I did.
In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?
It was magical and surreal. More than I expected.

How was the service that Swoop provided?
I have nothing but positive things to say about swoop. Alex understood right from the start what I was after and made it happen for me. He and his team are extremely responsive and kept us updated on everything.

It was more than I expected though we lost one day. It was the best choice and I would definitely recommend it to others

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?
The logistics were al good and I received all documents well in time. The accommodation at Punta Arena needs improvement. The rooms are warm and very noisy. It is impossible to sleep
How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?
This was excellent. The crew was experienced and put our safety on top priority. We sighted lots of wild life like penguins and whales. The icebergs were magical and the zodiac cruising around these was my favorite. A special shout out to the crew... they were beyond amazing.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Not sure how any other place or holiday will ever match up to what I experienced in Antarctica. I definitely would love to go back for a longer time.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
My advice is not to spend too much time thinking and planning. Just do it... it’s a magical place... pure and unadulterated nature. Once there, just surrender yourself to the beauty and serenity of the place.
Is there anything you would recommend we change to make trips like yours more environmentally sustainable?
