Tell us about the Paddling
Well worth it!
Tell us about the Sylvia Earle
Exquisite room service ~ the friendly staff and cleanliness and care of the cabins was great! Always greeted with a smile in the hallway!
Tell us about the expedition team
Super knowledgeable and entertaining! Team was well rounded providing a wealth of information and encouragement to continue learning about all aspects of antarctica from its history and its wildlife to ongoing preservation! … The penguin lecture “had me at hello”, the plastic ocean lecture and citizen science engagement have inspired me to be actively involved in wildlife and oceanic preservation … Mark’s sense of humor kept us laughing, Joslyn’s inspirational energy to learn about marine science and clouds, and Andrea’s dedication to finding answers to passenger questions of all sorts was impressive! Kerry did an awesome job of keeping the passengers organized and overseeing a smooth itinerary of activities! Bravo to the entire staff!
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Zodiac excursions were a favorite part of the trip! The cruise out to James Ross Island was spectacular! Indeed every excursion had its own magic!
Were Swoop right to recommend Aurora Expeditions?
Yes
Something Else?
Thank you! I look forward to my next adventure with you in Patagonia hiking!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
My biggest takeaway is that the mental distraction of social media is not appealing to me and that I’m keenly aware of the practice of relishing the present moment more. With a newfound awareness of the necessity to protect the amazing wilderness that is Antarctica, I feel freer to pay attention to what matters in life more.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Now that I better understand the process, whatever crisis that may arise (in my case an airline’s flight cancellation due to maintenance) I’m now better prepared to address the unexpected. My next task is to seek help from Swoop/Exito with insurance claims for hotel/car reimbursement. Note: Contacting Swoop and Exito during the trip was a bit tricky (time changes, limited WiFi/phone access in Argentina/Chile enroute) but once connected the support was appreciated.
