What was your most memorable moment?
There are so many! Watching the penguins with the expedition guide Serena. After learning so much about them it was fascinating to observe their behavior which an expert!

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Seeing all the wild life on shore or a zodiac cruise was a highlight. A zodiac cruise to see icebergs and Gold Harbor on South Georgia were 2 of my favorites.
Tell us about the expedition team
They were all knowledgeable and it felt like they were excited to show us all they could. So many lectures that it is hard to pick one. I really enjoyed Serena's penguin, Elo's krill and whale lectures. They all are passionate about increasing awareness about this part of the world and the importance to preserve it.
Tell us about the Sea Spirit
I shared a cabin with 2 other women also traveling solo. We all found space for our belongings without any problem and I slept great. The food was great, so many options, it was amazing they managed to get it all together 3 times a day. There was always coffee, tea and cookies available in the bar. There was also a tea time for lighter snacks in the afternoon.
Were Swoop right to recommend Poseidon?
Yes
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Don't overpack, I could have got by with less. Next time I would bring an extra pair of glove liners in case they get wet since we went out twice a day. My feet were warm with the muck boots, sock liner and thick hiking socks. If you plan to use your cell phone for pictures make sure you bring a lanyard style strap. There were a few people that dropped their phones in the sea.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I felt very prepared. It is such a special place and felt privileged to have the experience to step on the continent.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I am aware of how humans are impacting our planet but after learning so much about the wildlife I realized how little changes to the climate would have such a negative impact. Many things that seemed important are not and we have a responsibility to preserve this remote and spectacular part of the world. South Georgia will forever be in my heart!
