What was your most memorable moment?
Nearly everyday’s outing was a memorable moment…though more accurate a memorable outing! — Seeing flying albatross for the first time brought tears to my eyes as I’ve wanted to see them since 2002! —Kayaking and hearing the thousands of years old brash ice bubbles brought laughter…a musical song.

Yes
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Zodiac rides were joyful! Always felt safe. Drivers were great at pointing out sites/wildlife. Wonderful sense of humor.
Tell us about the expedition team
This is a difficult question. Each of the team members had their passions and enthusiastically shared their knowledge. All were excellent. —Will brought history (not my most enjoyable subject) to life! His enthusiasm and humor kept me engaged and entertained! —Laura’s knowledge. Infection concern & encouragement to get involved with respect to climate change, global warming and what we as individual can do in our communities was inspiring, —Annette’s wildlife knowledge & enthusiam exciting to listen/observe. —Hannah J was a delightful addition to the team. Her creativity with words/music and her stories from first hand experience living & working in South Georgia added texture to our time in South Georgia. —Hannah the team leader was amazing! Incredibly nibble in giving the most & best experiences given the wind & water. The team backed her and there were long days for them.
Tell us about the Seaventure
Seaventure was perfect! I would travel with Seaventure and Polar Latitudes again!
Tell us about the Paddling
I loved kayaking! It was my most joyful hours each time I went out! I experienced the enthusiasm and kayaking knowledge & skills. of Se’, Geraldo, Martin, & Fabrisio. The clearly worked well together to give the two teams experience & adventure within the limits of the two groups.
Something Else?
Front Desk and Conny were incredibly patient and helpful! They made it look effortless keeping all of us with fuctioning keycards, billings, special tip requests, the gift shop!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Arrive in Ushuaia a couple days early! You don’t want to miss your adventure because of flight delays, etc. Be open to new things….putting yourself out there….be social, ask questions, be engaged! Don’t let the cold stop you! The jackets and boots are incredibly good at keeping your feet toasty and your torso & arms warm!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Absolutely!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Keep recommending Seaventure & Polar Laditude!! Having a team that clears enjoys, respects each other is imperative! Do whatever you can to continue to foster that cohesive team!
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Swoop was great at preparing. But I had an unusually busy summer/early fall so my prep was last minute. And I was more than ready physically for the trip. Emotionally, mentally this trip was so much more than I expected! Important to be prepared for sensory overload!
Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?
Yes
