What was your most memorable moment?
So many, but seeing all the wildlife on South Georgia was the highlight. Others include the Towers in Torres, numerous Shackleton sites, whale encounters in Antarctica .....

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The team made it safe to get on and off the zodiacs despite some challenging swells. Having a mixture of shore excursions and zodiac tours at each location was great to experience a range of activities and sights. Most memorable zodiac tour was seeing minke whales investigating our zodiacs for 30 minutes and close enough to touch them.
Tell us about the expedition team
Staff were very knowledgeable and presented a wide range of lectures during at-sea days. They were all very friendly from meeting us on the pier, dining with us, around the ship, and of course on the excursions. Their excitement was infectious to. The Trip Leader was excellent, but it's hard to call out favorites as they all added to my enjoyment. I enjoyed the range of lectures and probably enjoyed the political history of Antarctica lectures the most as I was completely unaware of the subject matter.
Tell us about the Hondius
Ship was excellent. I was upgraded to a 2 person cabin, which was nice. Cabin was well configured and a bit larger than I expected. Shower was spacious and water nice and hot. Food choices and quality were great and the serving staff were a pleasure to be around. Drink prices were competitive, they were not trying to rip us off. I would recpmmemd going on Hondius again.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Make sure you go to South Georgia for the amazing wildlife and be on an expedition ship with less than 200 passengers.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I am much more aware of the need to protect Antarctica and the southern islands.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
My team did a great job for me. Would have been nice if there was a Torres and Los Glacieries trip in one package instead of two with a gap in the middle. Bus Sur recommendation from Puerto Natales to El Califate was a bit annoying as it went out of the way to Esperanza and we had to change busses there. Other travelers went direct.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I was excited and had a great time. The Travel Planner and conversations with the team prepared me well.
