Great holiday
On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?
10 out of 10
Tell us about the wildlife
The wildlife is amazing. You have to be careful not to step on the animals. Millions of penguins, seals and great sightings of whales
Something Else?
The Island Sky is amazing and the staff superb. Too much food and wine. I have never been fatter
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Follow the advice on clothing. Definitely do the kayaking even if you have limited or no experience - amazing! Be prepared for rough seas. Get prescription travel sickness remedies. Spend a few days in Buenos Aires but two nights in Ushuaia is enough because it is not a big town.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The Antarctic is a precious resource that needs to be preserved for all our sakes.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
The only downside was right at the end when those of us with afternoon flights were dumped in Ushuaia before the shops opened and with our luggage stored up three flights of stairs. I don't know if this can be improved in any way. I appreciate the ship needs to be emptied and prepared for the next passengers, but it is a shame that the very end of the holiday ends on a slight bum note when everything else was superb. This is a minor quibble on a holiday that is otherwise difficult to fault.
