Life before Swoop

After studying law at university and then entering the legal profession, the lure of exploring iconic destinations proved irresistible. I re-trained as an overland tour leader, and led tours through Sub-Saharan Africa from the vast Namibian desert to the Serengeti plains, often camping for 60 days straight. My further adventures included trekking in Nepal and an epic 90 day road trip around the US. On returning home, I continued my immersion into the world of travel and have been planning trips for others for the past 10 years, helping customers to explore the very best of what a destination has to offer. 

Why I love polar travel

For me, it’s the combination of vast, open space, and incredible wildlife - and I love that no two days, or even landings, are the same; it adds to the sense of uniqueness you get throughout. It’s the ultimate adventure to experience such a remote location.

Day to day at Swoop

I am an Antarctica specialist at Swoop, and spend my days planning trips of a lifetime to this incredible region. I love to use my insider knowledge and experience to advise on which boat and voyage will offer the most incredible experience for each person I’m talking to - it’s so important, as polar trips are often long planned and much anticipated, so getting the right one makes the time down at the bottom of the world totally awe-inspiring.
