PlanciusWhat was your most memorable moment?
Sitting in a rock on top of Danco island and watching thousands of gentoo penguins in their daily life all around me. The view below was incredible floating ice bergs, glaciers, mountains, seals and even a whale. The most breathtaking view- and seeing our ship in the bay gave proportion to the grandness of Antarctica. Difficult to describe the beauty and feeling I had in this beautiful continent!

Tell us about the wildlife
Saw humpback whales right near our ship performing bubble net feeding - for about 1 hour we paused to watch this amazing sight! Also while in a zodiac a small pod swam very near us - amazing

Comfortable and well equipped. Only suggestion was a small gym since there is slot of food and minimal exercise!

Never thought I would love penguins so much! So fun and entertaining to watch!!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
The weather was not as cold as I expected. I bought everything on the packing list and didn’t wear all of it. ( and I’m from California where it’s always warm so I thought I would be freezing!) good to be prepared but don’t overpack! Swoop did an amazing job of planning, organizing, follow through with this adventure! Thank you!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes- never expected to absolutely fall in love with a cold environment like this. I have already been looking into the Arctic trips
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Everyone at swoop was so helpful and went out of their way to find out what experiences we wanted and helped us with the perfect adventure. After Antarctica- we went on to Chile- Torres del paine in eco camp! So amazing. Great recommendation! Great adventure!
