Tell us about the wildlife
Plentiful Humpback whales, Adelaide, Gentoo, and Chinstrap penguins. Also saw Seals and Orcas
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Tracking Humpback Whales while they were feeding was a highlight
Tell us about the expedition team
Wonderful Staff Up and Down. From Ali working hard to find us a spot to land, to Mal and Alexis getting us out on Kayaks and Ropes. Top Notch.
Tell us about the Plancius
Plancius was fine. Food was alright, and the rooms were tight, but it met our expectations.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Pick your room! We planned last minute and took what we could to get on the boat, but we found out some rooms are placed better than others (noise, boat movement, etc)
Do you have any recommendations or feedback for the Swoop team?
We probably didn't need Mountaineering boots for the level of mountaineer we were. The level 1 hikes were with Snowshoes, and level 3 hikes were only for people who either brought their own gear or had been Level 3 mountaineering before. Other activities were as expected.
