Tell us about the wildlife
Wonderful, lots of penguins, some sea lions. Some whales, wished there were more whales.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Twice a day landings or cruises. Outstanding!
Tell us about the expedition team
Incredible Expedition Team. All very experienced and personable. They make the cruise special.
Tell us about the Hebridean Sky
Upscale, nicely renovated, great crew and staff. Wonderful variety of food. Attracts a great group of passengers.
Something Else?
Great trip. Tennessee was great. The rest of "administrative process" was ok but not as great as could be (people were always sweet and kind though). Unfortunately lots of little issues and confusions which should not happen on a trip this costly.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Most important part is pick the right ship. Hebridean Sky was very comfortable, had a great captain and crew who worked with the Expedition Team to make sure we had the most landings and Zodiak cruises. Important to get a great Expedition leader and team.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
We need to protect our planet! People better get to Antarctica before all the ice shelfs melt.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Tennessee set a high standard in selling the tour. The rest of staff seem very sweet but there were lots of little communication glitches and issues. While a lot of the information were probably in some document on the website, it would have been helpful if after the sale, the rest of the administrative team would be more "proactive" (e.g. help the customers navigate the intricacies about booking in-land flights, less communication issues). Also, while the Website contains a lot of great information, part of it was a bit difficult to navigate, especially the part where we enter our information.
