The vastness of the continent; seeing the wildlife up close; the incredible expedition team and the operator’s staff and crew; the learning opportunities from the lectures; the opportunity to make new friends from around the world....spending Christmas and my Birthday in an utterly indescribable place on our planet!

Life changing

I loved seeing the penguins - with their chicks the humpback whales; the seals and the birds! My favorite experiences were being close up with the penguins and all the day in the zodiacs with about 10 humpbacks feeding all around us!

Enjoyed the "close up" experiences in the zodiacs - with the wildlife and also with the icebergs! The team was very good to teach zodiac safety and maintain safety consistently.

So friendly and knowledgeable!! always patient with questions. I loved the lectures on the wildlife and also on the history of Antarctica and the environment. Each team member had thier area of expertise - enjoyed each one so much! Hella; Dave; Mara and Pablo; Sara; Will; Stephi; Michael; Ashley; Paul; Zach; Dr Bruce and his wife Lois; and Echo....each and every one of them were so kind and made every effort to know all the guest and interact. I never saw any of the team members irritated or unkind in any way to any of the guests. Highly professional.

Really nice ship. The staff was incredible! Our cabin housekeeper - Honey - was so friendly and accommodated any request with a smile. Our cabins were well kept - beds were very comfy - nice linens. Loved having the promenade level cabin - could step right out on the the deck to watch landscape or get photos. The finding room was very nice - especially like the outdoor eating space. Lots of variety in the menu and the food was very good. I am vegetarian and there was always plenty of options. Enjoyed the visit to the galley - amazing what happens behind the scenes to provide meals for all the ship! Also loved the special attention they gave to the birthday celebrants - there were 3 of us celebrating on the trip. A nice cake and songs from the entire kitchen/dining staff...very nice! Also loved that we had access to the bridge - the captain and pilots were wonderful - very informative and kind.

A wonderful trip! Met all my expectations and then some. From the first phone call when Tennessee answered to all the trip planning with Liz and the quick follow-up upon return...enjoyed every moment. I've recommended Swoop to so many people - and I'd certainly enjoy another trip.....guess I need to start thinking about Polar Bears!! A thousand thank yous!

Clothing - less is more...the pre-tripp suggestions/illustrations provided by Swoop were exactly what I needed. I might have left out a few things that I never really wore. I also might have included one "nicer" outfit for variety on the ship. And...do not pass on the polar plunge! Do it! Period!

The lectures were so informative - I have new knowledge and understanding of the wildlife and also of the environmental structure of the continent. It makes the seriousness of climate change and environmental protections even more important!
