Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Felt safe at all times. Weather changes quickly and the crew handled the weather changes well. Safety was always the concern. The crew also did all they could to provide unique moments while on the zodiacs.

Tell us about the expedition team

The team was absolutely amazing. Could not have asked for a better team. Very friendly, eager to help, and knowledgeable. Each member offered their own unique qualities and attributes.

Tell us about the Plancius

This ship was awesome. I originally had signed up for the 4 person cabin but due to my trip being cancelled for 3 years I was upgraded to a 2 person cabin. The 2 person cabin was perfect. If I had been stuck in a 4 person cabin I would not have enjoyed the trip as much. The food was absolutely amazing!!!!!! Better than some restaurants I have eaten at.

Something Else?

This was a trip of a life time. Everything about it came together perfectly for a phenomenal experience.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

You cannot control the weather so don't expect perfect sunny days every day. There is a possibility that you miss out on certain landings or activities due to weather. You have to expect this. If the chance of missing out on things due to back weather is going to ruin your trip then this is not a place for you.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Being away from the world with no phone/internet service in a location that is remote and uninhabbited makes you realize that is actually important in life. Antarctica is all about survival. That is really all that matters in life.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

To look over your rules on refunds. I am so very thankful I had the flexiblity and availability to wait 3 years to finally go on this trip however 3 years is such a long time where anything could have happened. I could of had a child or two which would have prevented me from having the time to go. I could of had something happen to my physically happen to me preventing me from having the ability to go. I could have gotten a new job preventing me from having the availibility to go.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

I felt prepared after 3 years of preparing. After 3 years of cancellations I was no longer excited.
