Overall, how was your trip?

The highlights of our trip were the many amazing wildlife experiences. We were SURROUNDED by BUBBLE FEEDING WHALES on TWO occasions during zodiac cruises! We were a few yards away from DOZENS of playful crabeater adolescent seals frolicking in the water. We were CHASED by a leopard seal! Penguins and birds galore! (Can you tell I am on team mammal rather than team bird?) The landscapes were breathtaking. The people on the cruise were lovely and fun.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

We had the most fabulous trip ever. Our very high expectations were far exceeded.

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Swoop did an AMAZING JOB! You answered all of my dozens and dozens of questions. You helped us to pick the EXACT right boat and voyage. We loved our cabin. We are so grateful to your whole team. Service was spot on before and during our trip. The only thing you should have done was INSIST that we go to Torres del Paine. We resisted because of Mark's schedule. You should have flown to Philly and FORCED us to go. Anyway, we would like your help booking that for our upcoming winter holiday.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

I already mentioned the amazing zodiac cruises. Suffice it to say that Mark has over 3000 pictures and we cannot figure out in some of them if he was shooting the whales, the sunset, or the mountains. I cannot say enough about the abundance of amazing wildlife and the phenomenal encounters we had as a result of the ship operator's staff. The icebergs were breathtaking and awe inspiring. Being chased by a leopard seal was funny and scary and wonderful. The staff was spot on perfect. Even the curmudgeonly bird expert had his good moments. Most of the staff were outstanding.

How would you describe {vessel.title} if talking to somebody potentially interested in going to Antarctica, and what tips would you pass on?

We didn't know what to expect, never having been on a cruise before. The ship is amazing. The size of the ship and the number of guests means that you can go on every single expedition, every single time. The staff takes great care of the passengers, and meets any unusual needs very well. I have had my hip replaced three times and I got personal help on slippery hikes whenever needed. The food is excellent. The cabins are super comfortable. I would recommend this ship to folks who are FRIENDLY (it is wonderfully social) and VERY INTERESTED in up close wild life experiences. The ship's operator needs a stronger ground game. Everything that occured onboard was handled very smoothly, even perfectly. However, prior to embarkation there were so many glitches. I could probably better explain them in a phone call. Most of the glitches were small, but you heard about Fiona from the UK - what happened to her was so upsetting to her. The ship's operator should have a dedicated person in Punta Arenas whose sole job is managing things prior to embarkation.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

All logistics worked perfectly. Our accommodations that you recommended were great. The hotel I chose on my own in Santiago was AWFUL, and so you found me another which was FABULOUS! PLEASE INSIST that all cruisers to go Torres Del Paine. We are sad we didn't and are planning our next trip there :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to your whole team.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
