Tell us about the wildlife
The Wildlife was amazing, each place was incredible different and exciting. My photo's are everything that I was hoping for.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The Zodiac excursions where ok, sometimes it felt too crowded and you had a hard time turning to see the wild life and land without bumping into someone. The drivers of the Zodiacs where great and I felt safe. Falkland Islands
Tell us about the expedition team
They where knowledgeable and as much as possible friendly because of the covid restrictions it was hard to really get to talk to them much. Danial, Maximo, John ( apologies I never got their last names)
Tell us about the Greg Mortimer
The ship was beautiful our cabin was nice and the housekeeping staff really impressive and friendly. The food was really good and the staff excellent. I should have waited until next year the covid 19 restrictions and constant testing was really stressful and took away any hope of fun. It felt like boot camp you couldn't eat when you wanted to and your meals kept getting moved around in time. There was such a separation from others and the mask mandate was never relaxed even after we had tested negative for over 14 days. This trip was one in a lifetime and I am disappointed that I didn't enjoy the experience. In the past I have went on many cruises and had a good time but after this experience I'm not sure I ever want to go on another cruise.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Research carefully the boats restrictions and mandates.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The wildlife has inspired me and I'm hoping to get a chance to give more to organizations that preserve and protect Antarctica.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Put yourself in the clients shoes and think about how you would feel about the experience.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
Knowing that there would be laundry specials would have really helped, I would have packed less cloths.
