SeaventureWhat was your most memorable moment?
Waking and being the first on deck for the first week and seeing the sunrise with the tabular icebergs for the first time...or was it the first Wandering albatross...or maybe the Southern Ocean...whales...penguins (you're not in Wisconsin anymore!). Most memorable? See me in 20 years when I've lost most of my memory and see what's left. ;)

Tell us about the expedition team
Awesome all of them! I think it would've been nice to have one of the naturalists on deck more though so we people from WI that didn't know the pelagic species could've received help to begin with. I tagged along with a birding group and learned through them but many people didn't and could've benefitted from a staff person being on deck.
Tell us about the Seaventure
Staff was great. The zodiac guys were awesome and friendly. Captain was fabulous in allowing us to experience whales and bays and.......
Tell us about the Kayaking
Weak spot! I was offered kayaking late and was told there was an opening. Nothing about immersive or discovery so I went in ignorant. I found I was in the discovery group and that they had space for 14 but allowed 42 to sign up so there'd be a lottery to fill spaces. I was not told that my couple of hundred that I paid (can't remember how much it was) was for only one day of kayaking and I'd have to pay each time I went. I got so disgusted with the whole setup, I never went kayaking. Pretty crappy in my opinion.

Were Swoop right to recommend Polar Latitudes?
Yes
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I learned how such cruises were set up (many companies using a ship). Other than that, it was what I expected as far as environment, classes, etc.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
See kayaking section. I don't think I missed anything in emails regarding kayaking so I was waaayyy disappointed in that part.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very. Clothing recommendations were spot on. Packed just right.
Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?
