Sitting quietly in a zodiac with the engine turned off watching whales. Polar plunge into the Antarctic, surfacing and seeing a horizon of beautiful glaciers and mountains.

The gear rental company worked out really well! We rented parkas, waterproof pants, and gloves. Everything was great and we didn’t have to buy our own since we live in a climate where it’s not necessary to own a big parka.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Definitely look into the clothing/gear rental option!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I’m even more dedicated to environmental protection than I already was prior to the trip. It’s important to protect ecosystems.

Make the gear rental option more apparent up front.

Very. Both prepared and excited. And the trip itself exceeded my expectations.
