Tell us about the Ocean Nova
This is an older ship relative to all the fancier ships launched in recent years. It was totally fine and comfortable. The shower in the bathroom is pretty tight and perhaps the only negative.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I was fully prepared with the needed gear. The special glacier sunglasses might not have been totally necessary since it is not that sunny in Antarctica. It might be helpful to recommend having microspikes or crampons for walking around on land - most of the hillsides they had us climbing were pretty slippery. I used ski goggles on the longer zodiac excursions and it did help to keep me warmer.
