Tell us about the wildlife
I saw the whales and penguins on one outing. The photos came out amazing.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Loved the Zodiac outing to see the wildlife. I don't know how many Zodiac trips we were scheduled for. we only did one.
Tell us about the expedition team
The staff did an amazing job providing lectures and information about Antartica. Everyone was absolutely awesome and I could tell, they really loved passing out the knowledge to others. BRAVO to all.
Tell us about the Magellan Explorer
The ship was awesome, the staff could not be any friendlier. The food was absolutely amazing. The elite package will get A++++++++.
Something Else?
Overall I really enjoyed the trip minus the extra expense due to communication.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Be very very PROACTIVE in your preparation. The mobility pass took a while till I finally called the Chilean Embassy in Washington and they instructed me on how to get one.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
In many ways. It is an eye opening venture and I highly recommend it.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
More Communication and lectures at early phase of the trip and not so much at the end. Available staff to guide the first timers going to other countries.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
A check off list for every task. COVID protocols in Chile should have been researched to prevent last minute changes.
