Coming across dozens and dozens of feeding humpback whales one morning. Some of them came right up to the ship!

Tell us about the wildlife
The feeding humpback whales encounter was spectacular. Seeing the three difference types of penguins in such close proximity was amazing.
Tell us about the expedition team
The expedition team, lead by Sara, was exceptional. Sara kept us informed on the activities of the day, and had multiple backup plans in case the weather did not cooperate for what was planned. The lectures were very informative.
Tell us about the Hondius
We were upgraded to two Grand Suites and they were really fine cabins. We had balconies on both sides of the ship, so it was convenient to run to one or the other whenever there were wildlife sightings. The cabin was very comfortable. I had assumed the food onboard would be average, and boy was I wrong! It was really excellent! Most of the people in our group are vegetarians, and we always had great choices - multiple salads, vegetarian soup option, and always a good vegetarian entree.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I don't know if this is because Argentina just opened up last November, and the airlines were just trying to get back to normal, but three of our flights got canceled on this trip and we were rebooked on other flights at very different times. So book tickets that are refundable, and arrive in Ushuaia a couple of days early to give you a buffer in case flights change.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The almost untouched and surreal scenery and unique wildlife experiences has me wanting to look into arctic expeditions!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Swoop has been absolutely fantastic! I will not only recommend Swoop wholeheartedly, but will surely return as a customer for future voyages.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
No - I felt like we had all the information we needed.
