Opening the door to the outside deck and getting my first look at South Georgia Island - I literally gasped!

Tell us about the wildlife
Pippa did really well to get us views of all penguins possible (eg Macaroni & Chinstrap), even if distant.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I enjoyed them far more than I expected. I would have missed them if we had only gone ashore. (I am quite comfortable with bobbing around in Zodiacs, though I realize an experienced, responsible driver is essential.)
Tell us about the expedition team
Pippa was the ultimate! I loved almost every lecture - I was repeatedly impressed with the depth of knowledge, the guides’ passion and the quality of the presentations.
Tell us about the Hondius
I think I would go on no other ship! Food was outstanding!! (I was in a Quad with 3 strangers, and it was a bit tight, but I have no complaints - though it might have been nice to be offered a free upgrade due to the vacant berths on this sailing.)

I love the idea of getting a slideshow and trip report prepared for us, so it’s ready to share upon our arrival home. Perhaps we shouldt have been notified of the fatal accident on the Quark expedition, since it happened so close to our cruise location.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
“It’s getting crowded down there…”
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I learned a lot and enjoyed the experience, but I don’t think I will go to Antarctica again - the environment there seems stressed enough.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Perhaps we should have been notified of the fatal accident on the Quark expedition, since it happened so close to our cruise location. I imagine Pippa could have found a way to inform our passengers in a sensitive way, at an appropriate time, to acknowledge the loss in a way that didn’t kill the spirit of adventure.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
I could have used more advice about Puerto Madryn, like what you have for Ushuaia.
