Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The excursions were.a great experience. They would have been better if the number on boarrd was reduced to 7 or 8 riders. Otherwise most everyone on this trip is over 60 and may not be as agile for shifting around to view everything or to photograph readily.
Tell us about the expedition team
Most of the team were very good knowledgeable and professional. A couple I felt were lacking in communication skills even though they may have been knowledgeable about their subject.
Tell us about the Island Sky
I enjoyed the the ship immensely. Room was great in fact better than great because we were upgraded! The chairs in the lounge and bar are dated and very uncomfortable. Especially if you are sitting for a presentation. The library chairs were newer and more comfortable.
Something Else?
I was very disappointed with the Expedition Staff not recognizing or acknowledging my wifes birthday. Not a big deal but just seems rude for a group that is supposed to making sure we are have a great experience. Though I was very impressed with Stephi. She seemed the most experienced and in charge and I was surprised she didn't make the effort to acknowledge a birthday.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I am encouraged. Being mindful of our planet.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Not really.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
They sold the Ornithology piece of the trip and shouldn't have. Either that or Polar Lattitudes struck out with Jeanine.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I am worried about it. It appears there may be too many visitors, same as the Galapagos.
Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?
