Tell us about Zodiac excursions
It provided not just great sights but great education as well it allowed us to have close encounters with humpback whales -- the most memorable being a group of humpback whales engage in a coordinated activity known as bubble net feeding
Tell us about the expedition team
Expedition team clearly loved where they were and what they were doing they were focused on safety as well as providing an up close encounter with the continent and its fauna the whole of the team was fantastic -- a few of our favorites were German, Zibo, and Fede
Tell us about the Magellan Explorer
We loved our cabin on deck 3 with a verandah i will always remember our first morning pulling back the blackout curtains and seeing the pristine antarctic peninsula and a few days later doing the same and seeing a humpback whale waving its fin
Tell us about the Kayaking
We had a blast with kayaking -- it allowed us to appreciate the massive size of the icebergs. i would recommend it to others and advise them to sign up in advance with the caveat that sometimes kayaking is impossible due to weather conditions.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Read the materials provided by swoop and antarctica 21 on how to prepare/dress be prepared if you get motion sickness/seasick be mentally prepared that the trip may not unfold as expected due to the variable weather definitely do the polar plunge followed by good fellowship in the sauna respect the environment and the penguin highways

It reinforced to me that human beings are part of an ecosystem that we can choose to exploit or of which we can be stewards and guardians
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
