What was your most memorable moment?

Having 10 humpbacks surrounding us whilst in the zodiacs. A couple were within touching distance. At one point 2 surfaced next to us as the glacier to our right calved. It was unreal.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Loved them. Absolutely amazing. I felt very safe. The humpbacks in paradise bay were amazing and the iceberg graveyard was beautiful.

Tell us about the expedition team

Absolutely great. They were an amazing team, I felt looked after and educated throughout. I just wish they had been more present in the evenings and free time to socialise as I would have loved to get to know them more! But of course I understand they were busy!

Tell us about the Plancius

Great boat with comfortable accommodation and incredible food! im sure I put on a lot of weight in the 2 weeks on board!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Take 2 pairs of gloves Incase one gets wet in the morning! For the afternoon you will want dry gloves!

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Improve customer service and how you speak over email. I’m sure that’s just the person I spoke to but it came across as rude. Remember your customers often have worked for years to afford this trip and it’s a dream for them. Please don’t undervalue that and respect what they have done to do this. Also an apology goes a long way and even if it isn’t Swoops fault directly the customers are counting on swoop to vouch for them and make sure their best interests are being met. I felt let down by swoop in this regard.
