Tell us about the expedition team
They were great. The right mix of experts and regular folks. They were smart enough to answer most question but would also admit when they did not know but they made sure to follow up with the right answer.
Tell us about the Seaventure
Great boat. The rooms were a good size with a usable shower. The bar was well stocked and stayed open as late as our group wanted to stay up
Tell us about the Camping
Amazing, the highlight of the trip. We were able to camp on the peninsula with an expedition member who had crossed the peninsula walking himself just a year prior. His experience and stories while we were setting up camp made the experience much better than just sleeping in a snowy foxhole.
Tell us about the Kayaking
Great! It took a few tries until the weather conditions were good enough to kayak but once we were out there it was great. The team was able to help inexperienced guests as well as give more tips to those of us with kayak experience. The expedition leaders were laughing and having so much fun themselves it was hard not to enjoy it.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Do not over pack a lot of us were able to do this trip easier with a cary on sized bag. Make friends, spend the first few nights at the bar after dinner even if you just have a hot chocolate and meet the other guests. Make friends with the crew and expedition team. They had great stories.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
No, swoop did an amazing job communicating and setting everything up. If anything a quick message on the day of arrival in Ushuaia assuring us that the polar latitudes team was waiting to pick us up would have be reassuring.
