What was your most memorable moment?

There are quite a few actually, difficult to choose. I'll share one each for Antarctica and Patagonia. Antarctica - very up close a couple of humpback whales, directly by the bow of MS Seaventure, almost could touch them, as they blow and surface for a good 10-15 minutes pushing the broken ice around them. Bliss. Patagonia - horseback riding up the base of Las Torres, allowed me to soak up the views near and far, riding high above the side of mountain, looking down the valley, up Las Torres view, absolutely fantastic point of view.

Were Swoop right to recommend Polar Latitudes?

Yes

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Zodiacs excursions were integral to Antarctica expedition, we needed them to land. Embarking and disembarking were very organised, and only once due to high winds >25 knots was the zodiac excursion cancelled due to safety.

Tell us about the expedition team

All the team members were great, Danny's lead the excursions well, love Hannah's ornithology knowledge and the exuberance of Tracy, the guy can make talking rock interesting haha.

Tell us about the Seaventure

MS Seaventure is a decent and well equipped ice class ship, Sergey runs a great crew and I must say, put on 3 kilos plus with the fine dining cuisines.

Would you be interested in travelling to Patagonia with Swoop?

Yes

Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?

Yes

Would you be interested in travelling to The Arctic with Swoop?

Yes

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Landing may need some dexterity, to get off and on the zodiac. Embarking and disembarking at the ship is easy. Do your research of what you want out of the Antarctica expedition, it's not a one size fit all.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Absolutely. Having set foot on Antarctica and it had been an immense experience to see and experience Antarctica in person is totally awesome experience.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

Very.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

We did have a moment of concern when our transfer from El Chaltén to El Calafate was a bit of a crisis. After our driver picked us up at Poincenot hotel, and dropped us at the bus terminal, neither the driver or us were sure of the mode of transport as there was some confusion in the itinerary, not able to confirm with Swoop or local partners before time. Thankfully, the driver was able to help us with the bus tickets and managed to depart from El Chaltén as it was only 15 mins to departure time. We didn't get the feedback from email or WhatsApp query sent. Otherwise, all itinerary were as planned.
