Austine & Cathleen Stitt/Noland 's Ship:
Hebridean SkyOverall, how was your trip?
Everything about the trip was first-rate! Of course the geography and wildlife were spectacular, even more than we expected. But we were blown away by the expedition staff - by their amazing knowledge and ability to share it, their friendliness and the ability to adjust to situations at a moment's notice - like the time the captain slowed and turned and they launched zodiacs so we could see unexpected whales more closely. Our fellow travelers were all interesting and fun and the quality of the staterooms and ship generally were fantastic - as was the food!
In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?
Yes, Antarctica was absolutely amazing!
Would you visit again?
Yes
How was the service that Swoop provided?
Swoop and especially Loli, were terrific from initial contacts to getting on the ship. I can't imagine a more perfect ship than the Hebridean Sky!
How likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend?
10 out of 10
You chose a/an Antarctic Peninsula Classic experience. How was that experience?
Unbelievable! Perfect in every way.
If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?
Helped get us an extra day at Arakur before we left - which was wonderful!
How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?
I have a bad knee so I was concerned about getting on and off the zodiacs, but the expedition staff did a wonderful job giving me extra help. I cannot repeat often enough how fabulous the expedition staff were in every regard! Most of the time, when we were heading for a landing, the leader who was driving the zodiac gave us talks/ information about what we should look for. They did a good job of planning the landing and cruising so we got to see different landscapes and animals/birds wherever we went. Truly amazing!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
The information we got before leaving and the quality of everyone involved onboard from the ship's operator were absolutely perfect. I don't know how good other companies/ships are, but I can recommend them without hesitation.
