Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I felt safe, it was fun. Only one thing bother me. You could see the team going out to check out the area from our balcony. It’s so funny to see how close they get to the animals and when we are doing it they scream at you to back off. Even with a whale. Me and my husband could not believe how close they got to the whale, and it was like 6 zodiacs on her. With us only two Zodiacs could be close and not that close. Double standard, I didn’t not like that
Tell us about the expedition team
Leo was the best. The rest should be more humble and remember that we don’t have experience in any of this. That if we ask questions is because we are afraid, nervous. Some of them seemed annoyed about our questions or the fact that we were freaking out. Other guest were complaining about the same. Best lectures- Leo by far
Tell us about the Sylvia Earle
Love the staff, always wanting to please Except the bartender of the 5th floor bar- Enrique. I have no idea how they have someone so rude working there I was trying to hide from him but he would not let things be. Even told me once to go get my one coke at the other bar upstairs I complained to the hotel Manager but didn’t see much done about it.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Yes, there is no reason to freak. They will do their best to please you. Just make sure that you dress up arm and you are ready to have fun!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
No, people are not perfect. Nothings is perfect. But it was a pretty amazing experience.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I love Helen. Did not like Mariana or Marina or Maria, I forgot her name. She was unavailable often. Giving wrong information.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
We were very excited but I was very much afraid and nervous. Helen helped with that.
Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?
Yes
