Tell us about the Hondius
Hondius had all of the amenities needed for the trip. The open bridge was fantastic. The organization of the zodiacs each day was very efficient and boarding at the shell doors was well organized. The food was excellent with plenty of selection. The dining room staff was very attentive. The cabin was perfect and the cleaning staff did an excellent job in the rooms and common areas.

The expedition team provided a wide array of lectures on topics related to the trip with an excellent knowledge base in each area of expertise.
Tell us about the Scuba Diving
Loved the scuba diving! It was a very unique experience and it was amazing to see all of the color and life below the surface in contrast to the above water views. Diving staff did a phenomenal job every day getting us into and out of the zodiacs and keeping the divers safe. It was also great to have an opportunity to participate in some of the shore excursions without missing any dives.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The routes were well marked and there was always an expedition team member at the key points to provide help or additional information. Yes, felt safe at all times. Most memorable was stopping the zodiac in a bay full of icebergs with humpbacks and penguins feeding in the distance and then having the humpbacks approach and move past the zodiac for a wonderful unexpected encounter.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Attend the lectures to broaden your knowledge of Antarctica, the history, the geology, the wildlife (to name the highlights), and so much more.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It reinforced existing perspectives.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very prepared and excited. The pre-trip webinar was extremely helpful to firm up preparations.
