What was your most memorable moment?

Landings on Antartica and experiencing the vastness, the history, the animals, mammals, flora. the discovery team on board the Scenic Eclipse 2 were terrific and willing to help and explain and engage. some other moments were landing on Cape Horn and cruising down the Fjords of Patagonia.

Which of the following best describes your adventure?

Life changing

On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?

Were Swoop right to recommend Scenic Luxury Cruises?

Yes

Tell us about Buenos Aires

If we had only come for one or two days it would have been a waste. but we did come for a week and it was great to get a true taste of this cosmopolitan city. bad idea to have people just come a day or two before the cruise.

Tell us about Punta Arenas

Nice city and the area was interesting and we enjoyed our visit to the Estancia Olga Theresa. we spent a few hours in the city after the visit to the Estancia. Quite a different lifestyle but no doubt similar to the large ranches in other countries.

Tell us about Santiago

Again had we disembarked and gone straight to the airport it would have been a mistake. luckily we planned a 4 day tour of the area. a day in Valparaiso, a day in the Casablanca Valley - two wineries and a great lunch at one of the wineries, a day trip to Cajon de Maipo outside of Santiago and a long half day tour of the city of Santiago.

Tell us about Ushuaia

Arriving in Ushuaia was great. but the bus tour was just that except for getting out at the USHUAIA sign overlooking the bay and part of the city on the hill.

Something Else?

The tours in Chiloe, Puerto Mont were OK. I wish we had signed up for different tours.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Our appreciation for the impact climate change has had on the environment and particularly on the Antarctic Continent and the Chilean Fjords and other environments around the world. the impact of colonialism on native peoples and cultures - we have always have had an understanding of what was done by the colonialists in the USA and Canada and New Zealand and Australia and parts of Africa. The Spanish and other colonialists in South America was a whole new exposure. The vastness of the other islands and opportunities in the Antarctic region and other islands.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

Pretty prepared re: clothing, camera, pre prep information and videos and information we gleaned in our reading, etc. re question 5 below I wish there was a maybe. I have photos but they are mostly on my phone and camera at this point. can't download from my phone as the link below does not link to Google photos.

Would you be interested in travelling to Patagonia with Swoop?

No

Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?

No

Would you be interested in travelling to The Arctic with Swoop?

Yes

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The videos and prep materials were very helpful on the swoop website. we did not appreciate the fact that because we booked with swoop our Scenic trip we could not charge our trip and therefore resulted in undo credit card fees or we would have to pay by check. the staff should have disclosed this from the beginning before we made any arrangements with SWOOP.
