The icebergs, wildlife and landscapes were hard to all take in. The Vavilov was the perfect venue in every respect.
In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?
It was an incredible experience. Antarctica is unlike any place I have ever visited, totally unspoiled by human influence aside from the few research stations dotted here and there. The raw beauty and remoteness is impossible to describe.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?
The excursions were very well planned and executed. They were the "hands-on" part of the trip and allowed everyone to experience the wildlife and landscapes up-close.

We visited Patagonia prior to leaving for the Falklands on the 20th. I would like to visit te Arctic but my wife does not share my enthusiasm.
