Kayaking in Wilhelmina Bay with icebergs and whales quite nearby and two emperor penguins on the shore.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I felt very safe in the zodiacs. Special efforts of safety were used as we embarked and disembarked. One zodiac event stands out when we saw penguins on icebergs sliding down and then jumping back on, but each excursion was special.
Tell us about the expedition team
They were knowledgeable and friendly and were quite attentive as well. Nate was amazing in finding us great places to land when the planned ones weren’t available. His flexibility was terrific. Zach was very patient with our beginner questions about kayaking and his team of Matt and Alice helped us every step of the way. I really enjoyed Scottie’s whale lecture, and the whales participated by showing up right in the middle of his presentation. I especially enjoyed the lectures about nature and animals, but all the lectures were interesting and informative. It is hard to choose a favorite.
Tell us about the Seaventure
Yes, the Seaventure was the most comfortable I've been on and I have gone on several cruises. The cabin was quite cozy. Our cabin attendant, Marie, met our needs with friendly efficiency. We appreciated the regular washings of the outside of our windows. The food was good and varied. At dinner the waiters were kindly willing to adjust our servings and choices to fit our needs and desires. At breakfast I was delighted with the crisp bacon and omelets made to order. And the choice of fresh fruit was welcomed.
Tell us about the Kayaking
We are so glad I signed up for kayaking. We kayaked one day and it was magical. Being beginners, we were nervous, but Zach was very helpful in sharing information that helped calm us as we waited for the right day to kayak. Matt and Alice, along with Zach, were very attentive the day we kayaked and assisted us every step of the way. I highly recommend kayaking to other travelers.

We are very happy that we chose Swoop and Polar Latitudes to be our partners in experiencing Antarctica, the Falklands, and South Georgia. We couldn't have picked a better team. Thank you!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I usually go directly to the travel company or cruise company. I haven't used a travel agent before. I was very impressed with Swoop and the help they gave us in choosing a trip that fit our needs.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
We felt as prepared as we could be, and it turned out that Swoop and Polar Latitudes gave us the best preparation we could have had. We had everything we needed to have a safe and enjoyable time. Each day of the journey brought new excitement and adventures.
