PlanciusOverall, how was your trip?
The wildlife was the highlight of Antarctica, although the landscapes and icebergs were also spectacular. The people on the ship were a delight -- very interesting and congenial. The one surprise was the afore-mentioned need to spend one less day on the Antarctic peninsula.
In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?
Antarctica was absolutely amazing, with humpback whales swimming next to the boat, fur seals barking, and penguins being their charming selves. Unfortunately, due to approaching storms, we had to leave the Antarctic peninsula a day early, which was a disappointment.

How was the service that Swoop provided?
Yes, we are pleased that we booked with a polar specialist. John knew that the Plancius had a quiet motor and that we would enjoy this particular voyage. His expertise was very valuable all along the way. So far as we know there's nothing that we can do about Mother Nature and the weather!!
