Tell us about the expedition team
Not a well run machine. 1. Not many ship announcements of sightings to albatross or whales. No point in telling us of sightings as an after event. 2. Knowledgeable team but does not keep a running commentary unless asked. 3. Each person only knows their own role. When asked area which they are not in charge of, an answer of ‘I don’t know’ was given.
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Knowledge of team varies greatly - just your luck if u are in a zodiac with a newbie who can’t tell u very much.
Tell us about the Sylvia Earle
Cabin was amazing - loved the heated bath room! Food was not as good as expected. - many dishes were over salty - mains not balanced eg a pasta main is 95% pasta with 5% meat or vege - in general food was average given a great ship and service staff. Service staff housekeeper Grace, waiter Otto and head waiter Alain were outstanding.

Do suggest to clients to try out the king crab in town - yummy and good value.

Surprised that there was no ‘souvenir’ of the journey in the form of a printed group picture or a thumb drive of collective pictures provided. Instead we were asked to go to the pc to download them if we wanted it.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
1. The 3 in 1 jacket comprised of a down jacket and a thick outer shell. Had I know that, I would not have brought my own down jacket. 2. Waterproof pants is a must have given the wet seats on zodiac and wet landing. 3. Taxi from AEP to EZE can be arranged at Remis desk outside arrival
