Were Swoop right to recommend Aurora Expeditions?

Yes

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Zodiac excursions were a great way to see a vast area of water in a quick amount of time. Our drivers were knowledgeable and kind. Aurora was able to keep 8 passengers only per zodiac which was super awesome.

Tell us about the expedition team

Everyone was so upbeat, kind, open, and open to learn and teach about any topic discussed. It almost felt like they were just another person on the trip with us, rather that “being at work”. We were so happy with everyone that we met!

Tell us about the Greg Mortimer

5 stars all around. Food was great. The ship was immaculate. Room was superb - I mean, nearly everyone had balconies! Never knew I needed a turn down service, but what a great that is!! I would definitely embark on another expedition on the Greg Mortimer. ((Only con, was that the boat was too hot. Nearly every passenger agreed, yet the temp was never lowered))

Tell us about the Paddling

We absolutely loved being able to paddle on the trip. Being up close and personal with the wildlife for eye view was just a site to be had. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. BUT. We were sold that paddling would occur on the whole trip, and it was only scheduled for Antarctica (no South Georgia). All 7 of us paddlers were not aware of this, and all were very disappointed. In addition, I do have to say that I believe there was more favoritism towards kayakers, over paddlers, on this journey. It’s a new package for Aurora in the antarctic, and it definitely needs to be worked on.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Have fun, expect the unexpected, and try new things. We enjoyed meeting all the other passengers.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

Totally.
