Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Zodiac excursions were extremely well organized and memorable. Definitely felt safe at all times. Our excursion planners were terrific!
Tell us about the expedition team
Everyone was friendly and were experts in their fields. Favorite lectures were on the geological history of the continent and the history of the first explorers.
Tell us about the MS Adventurer
Our cabin was excellent! Food was less than stellar according to my tastes. The cleaning staff, kitchen staff, servers and bartenders were all the best! Always smiling and confident even on long days at sea. Everything and everyone were terrific!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
They should realize that they will be on a boat for 28 days. Bring games/cards, etc. for their spare time.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I'm so much more familiar with the southern hemisphere, including the early explorers and the eventual emergence and evolution of the various continents/countries from Gondwana.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Would be much easier if the person assigned to someone did not change. Also, that the person was from the country that the boat was leaving from, i.e., New Zealand vs. South America. It got confusing with irrelevant email information related to Ushuaia.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Well prepared. The emails and videos that told us what to pack, how to dress, etc., were extremely helpful!
