Very safe, we could go very close to the whales.
Tell us about the expedition team
Marine mamals and birds were my favorite (2 ladies, Annie and ?). Clear elocution, good pace, good supporting slides.
Tell us about the World Explorer
Love this boat, felt more luxurious than the Queen Mary II. Large windows, large bathroom with marble, ample closet space, very well conceived.
Tell us about Ushuaia
Underwhelming, especially its small glacier - we had visited the Perito Moreno the day before. Not much to do in the city, but a good choice of restaurants. The hotel was a bit to basic, especially not matching the boat level.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Study the Swoop site well to determine which season is best for them, and which level of comfort.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Do not forget team members when you communicate information. I prepared this trip for several months, then my husband paid and I stopped receiving emails completely. Excessively annoying and disrespectful. Also, please let Quark know that everyone filling the portal should receive the photos after the trip. They made us register specifically, we did, and they still forgot to send us anything. We had to request the links to the dropbox. They should do this instead of inundating us with advertising too soon after the trip.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Not so prepared since I did not receive emails until I wondered what was going on. Too much stress before. The Quark portal is not customer-friendly - should have autofill for people sharing the same data.
