Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Yes, I loved all of them. And yes, very safe. Seeing macaroni penguins and penguins swimming around.
Tell us about the expedition team
Our expedition team was so outstanding. I could not rave more about them. Our expedition lead is 100% outstanding. We could not have a better lead. He is super organized and very informative. He made the trip really unforgettable.
Tell us about the Ocean Explorer
The cabin was good but I wish I didn't have to be the first room in the front of the ship. I got super seasick due to the room location. The food was awful. We had so much indian food. It was crazy. Other cruisine was not good. The rice noodles was never cooked. The food every day was the same. No change at all.
Tell us about the Kayaking
I loved it 3 out of 5 times. Quark should really emphasize that you really need to know how to Kayak to sign up. We had two people who didnt know how to Kayak to sign up. So for the first two times, I was paired up with one of them, we were struggling and always the last. I never saw the view that my other kayak peer saw which was really sad. I never saw a ton of baby seals swimming around us. We were the last to get to the spot and as soon as we got there, we needed to leave. As soon as I switched to single, It was amazing. 100% would recommended to others. Kayak people got the longest time to be out exploring and seeing everything. It was awesome.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Don't bring a ton of stuff especially you are sharing a room. You really don't need your own pillow case, or massvie bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from home, nor your own and multiple bath towels. Please don't throw your stuff to your roommate's bed. Her/his bed is her/his space. You didn't pay for that space. Please close the doors in the room. It is super dangerous for leaving doors open on an operating ship.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Unless the advisor is committed to take the role for a while, they shouldn't do this role. It is kind of disruptive.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Emma helped me to be super prepared and got me super excited for the trip. I was really prepared and her suggestions were fantastic.
