What was your most memorable moment?
Climbing the hill at the first landing on the Antarctic peninsula and turning around and seeing the ship sitting in the bay and understanding the time and effort required just to get there. It was so alien, it felt like I was standing on the moon.

Tell us about the Seaventure
I loved the size of the vessel and appreciate that I was able to get my own cabin. I would have been very uncomfortable sharing that space with a stranger. I also loved being able to participate in the science experiments being done during the trip and I did several of them. I would choose this ship again.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I would have liked another day in Ushuaia to visit the museum and spend a bit more time in town. The trip into the national park was very rushed and a lot of the sights we visited were overcrowded with passengers off the monster sized cruise ships. Vehicles couldn’t even get into the parking lots they were so jammed. I also think another day or two at Antarctica may have relieved some of the pressure caused by bad weather.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The effect of global warming was readily evident by all the rain we were getting and the about of snow algae covering the ice.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I would only promote the smaller expedition vessels and avoid putting thousands of people into such a fragile environment.
