What was your most memorable moment?
We paddled in Paradise Cove near whales which was peaceful and glorious. It was also the same day back home that my beloved aunt passed away. The experience of kayaking near whales brought peace to my teary heart. That was definitely one of the most dear memory moments. There were so many memorable moments in Antarctica from the otherworldly sea- glacier- iceberg- landscapes, to the birds mammals, and invertebrates—like jellyfish!, to the people—like the expedition team who shared warmth and fascinating information and the other guests who became our friends. Antarctica was definitely an adventure of a lifetime.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
We only went on one zodiac excursion—which was fun—because we did the immersive kayaking. Immersive kayaking was GREAT. My husband and I loved it as did the other eight people l in our small group. For each of us, we thought that the immersive kayaking made our Antarctica experience because it was so personal and intimate.
Tell us about the expedition team
Expedition team members are all expert, friendly, and helpful. We especially enjoyed Paul who was an expert about Antarctic expeditions; Julia, who taught us about whales; and Nate, who was the overall expedition leader—he was friendly, precise, and incredibly knowledgeable. We also want to mention Randy, who was the musical team leader, he was awesome.
Tell us about the Seaventure
We went through some pretty rough waves getting down the Drake Passage and the ship maneuvered beautifully. The captain was a pro; we enjoyed having a tour of the bridge with him.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
We are definitely earth caring people who are conscientious about global warming’s affects in our actions, but it was fascinating to learn how much global warming is affecting this incredible continent.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Due to all the support and help from the Swoop team, we felt very prepared for our Antarctic experience
