What was your most memorable moment?
Just standing on deck in awe of my surroundings. It was a beautiful day and the glaciers were truly stunning. I also loved kayaking among the penguins and ice sheets.

Tell us about the expedition team
We enjoyed two kayaking expeditions - and, due to weather, had two completely different experiences. In both cases, Meg was a trusted and knowledgable leader. While our first day out was beautiful, the weather turned quickly on our second outing. Meg and our Zodiac driver kept their cool and expertly got everyone back in the zodiac and safely to the ship. It was a crazy experience but was impressed by the staff's quick thinking and fast work.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Pay attention to the temps at each landing. We overdressed (it's Antartica, right?) and were way overheated by the time we climbed the hills in the deep snow.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I have a deeper appreciation for wildlife and unspoiled areas. I also feel more adventurous and open to new travel opportunities.
